George Lucey, 1953-2020
George Francis Lucey of Arlington MA passed peacefully on February 5, 2020 after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer. Born on June 15, 1953 in Cambridge MA George owned and operated a plumbing company, the Lucey Company Plumbing and Heating in Belmont, MA , and was beloved by customers and contractors alike. He loved his work. He was known as a deeply kind and generous man with a ready smile. His goal in life was to love everyone unconditionally and he did so naturally – with family, friends and every person he met. His steadfast belief in the oneness of all creatures created an aura of peace and healing around him that was felt by all. He was truly a remarkable soul, and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother Christine Buckley, wife Julie (Rackliffe) and daughters, Noelle Lucey and her husband Jeremy Paulus of Bocas del Toro Panama and Madeleine Lucey of Arlington and Baltimore, MD; two brothers, James (Karen) Loftus of Westwood, MA and Christopher (Patricia) Lucey of Bloomfield, CT. The family is grateful to Care Dimensions Hospice for their compassionate and attentive care.
A memorial service will be held at St Anne’s Chapel at the Bethany House of Prayer, 181 Appleton Street in Arlington at 11:00 am on February 15th followed by a celebration of his life at the Masonic Temple (19 Academy Street Arlington, MA 1:00-5:00 pm).
